A young tired, mother patiently spoon feeds her cranky, teething baby. A hard working husband comes home after a long day of work and then proceeds to cook dinner for his wife. A school-aged boy hugs and kisses his mother goodnight. He whispers “I love you,” and she walks to her room, assured that tomorrow, everything is going to be alright, even though today, so many things went wrong.
And in these somewhat ordinary, hidden and seemingly simple acts, extraordinary grace, mighty mercy and enduring love are seen. They may not be seen by the world, but by they are seen by the Maker of the world.
And perhaps, if these somewhat ordinary, hidden and seemingly simple acts of grace, mercy and love began to happen within the walls of every home, those acts would spill over into the world outside those walls and the extraordinary grace, mighty mercy and enduring love of our Maker would be seen by all.
